How to Spend the Perfect Day in Nappanee, Indiana

Located about two hours north of Indianapolis, Nappanee makes a great getaway for coffee lovers, antique hunters, and anyone who enjoys small-town charm.

While Nappanee may be best known for Amish Acres, there's so much more to this charming town than many people realize. Between cozy coffee shops, antique hunting, local boutiques, and great food, it's the perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon exploring.

If you love wandering through shops, discovering unique treasures, and taking your time exploring, Nappanee is absolutely worth adding to your list.

Start Your Morning at Coppes Commons

Grab a coffee from Coppes Coffee, located inside the beautifully restored Coppes Commons building.

This is one of those places where you can easily spend a few hours wandering. Inside you’ll find antique shops, boutiques, a bakery, a bookstore, and a market—all under one roof.

My favorite stop inside is Dutch Lady Antiques. Somehow, every single time I visit, I leave with an entire bag full of treasures. On this trip alone, I found:

·       a gold frame

·       a vintage perfume tray

·       a coffee mug

·       a wooden engraved recipe holder

·       a brass decorative plate

If you love antique shopping, this place is dangerous in the best way.

Before you leave, take some time to browse the deli, bookstore, and bakery—and definitely grab a sweet treat or a bag of popcorn for later.

Lunch at Hunters Hideaway

For lunch, head to Hunters Hideaway, which has become one of my favorite spots in town.

If you go, order the peanut butter smash burger. It sounds unusual, but trust me—it’s so good, and we order it every single time we visit Nappanee.

Afternoon Shopping

After lunch, walk next door to Neighbors Mercantile Co.

This store gives major Magnolia-style vibes, with beautiful home décor, candles, and thoughtfully curated items throughout the shop. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s worth walking through just for the experience.

Next, head across the street to 1874 Found Goods + Gifts, another great stop for antiques and vintage finds. The shop has such a welcoming atmosphere, and the owners are incredibly friendly.

Final Thoughts

There’s still so much more I want to explore in Nappanee, which means I’ll definitely be back again soon. I already have plans to return this summer to try more restaurants and spend more time exploring the downtown shops.
