An Indiana Antique Trail: Coffee, BBQ & Treasure Hunting in Two Small Towns
If your ideal Saturday includes coffee, antique hunting, local shops, and really good BBQ, I've got another Indiana day trip for you!
This antique trail takes you through two small towns in northern Indiana—Pierceton and North Webster. Start the morning with coffee and donuts, spend a few hours hunting for treasures, grab BBQ for lunch, then finish with one more iced coffee for the drive home.
Basically, my kind of Saturday.
Start with Coffee & Donuts in Pierceton
Start your morning at Salt + Light Coffee Co. in downtown Pierceton.
This is such a beautiful space with whitewashed brick, brown leather chairs, and plenty of natural light pouring through the big windows along Main Street.
They also serve donuts from Tiny Little Donuts, so obviously I had to get one.
I ordered a cappuccino with Cookie Butter syrup and the lemon glazed donuts, and both were so yummy. It's the perfect place to settle in with a friend before a morning of treasure hunting.
Antique Shopping in Pierceton
Our favorite antique stop in Pierceton is Kelsea Designs.
It's a smaller shop, but everything feels thoughtfully curated, the prices are great, and I always seem to find at least one piece that needs to come home with me. Sometimes I'd rather browse a smaller store filled with things I love than spend hours digging through a huge antique mall.
Right next door is a new addition to downtown, The Crafty Fish Art Center.
Pop in to browse locally made woodworking décor and seasonal sweatshirts, or head into the craft room where you can create your own wood project. They also plan to offer art and craft classes, so I'm excited to see how this space grows!
Next, head over to Antiques on First Street. This is a nice, traditional antique shop with plenty to browse and reasonable prices.
A few of the other antique stores in town were closed during our visit, which was disappointing—especially since we were there on a Saturday over Labor Day weekend. That's one reason I'd recommend checking store hours before making the drive.
Fortunately, we had another antique stop waiting for us in North Webster.
Head to North Webster for More Treasure Hunting
Make your way to Heart of the Lakes Antique Mall in North Webster.
This is a much larger antique mall with lots of vendors, plenty to look through, and good prices.
Since North Webster is a lake community, you'll notice quite a bit of nautical décor and lake-inspired vintage finds mixed throughout the booths. That's not really my personal antique-shopping vibe, but if you're decorating a lake house or love that style, you may find some great treasures here.
Right across the street, pop into Barefoot Cottage, a cute home décor shop that's an easy addition to your shopping loop.
BBQ for Lunch
By this point, you'll be ready for lunch—and you don't even have to move your car.
Walk over to Roll-N Smoke BBQ, which is conveniently located near Heart of the Lakes Antique Mall.
They have a great menu, but I'd definitely recommend the BBQ Parfait with mac and cheese, pulled pork, and onion rings.
So delicious.
Coffee, antiques, and BBQ all within walking distance? This is exactly why I love putting together these little small-town day trips.
One More Coffee for the Drive Home
You know I like to end a shopping day with a little iced-coffee pick-me-up.
I need enough energy to drive home, unpack all my antique treasures, cook dinner, and putz around the house for the rest of the evening!
The River Coffeehouse is the perfect final stop.
You really can't miss it—it's inside a big gray castle right along the main road and is across the street from the BBQ restaurant and antique mall.
The coffeehouse itself is huge, with several different seating areas, so it would be a great place to meet a group of friends. They also serve food, making it another option for breakfast or lunch.
Their fall menu was especially tempting during our visit, with drinks like the Spooky Brew, Shaken Pumpkin, Caramel Apple Chai, and Apple Crisp Cold Brew.
Grab something iced for the drive home, load up your antique treasures, and call it a successful day.
Final Thoughts
Pierceton and North Webster make an easy little antique-shopping trail when you're looking for somewhere new to explore in northern Indiana.
I especially love that the day gives you a mix of shopping experiences—from the beautifully curated Kelsea Designs to a larger vendor-style antique mall at Heart of the Lakes. Add two local coffee shops, donuts, BBQ, and a few locally owned stores, and you've got a day trip that's definitely worth the drive.
Just remember to check antique store hours before you go. Small-town shops sometimes have limited hours, and you'll want as many treasure-hunting opportunities as possible!
