5 Antique Malls Worth the Drive in Indiana

If you've been following The Kindred Compass for a while, you know I love a good antique-shopping day. Give me a big antique mall, reasonable prices, and a few hours to wander through the booths, and I'm happy!

After visiting antique stores all over Indiana, I've started collecting a list of favorites. These are the places where the prices are good, the treasure hunting is even better, and I almost always leave carrying entire box of vintage finds.

Whether you're looking for brass figurines, vintage glassware, antique furniture, or just enjoy seeing what treasures you might discover, here are five of my favorite antique malls in Indiana that are absolutely worth the drive.

And because you know I can't plan a shopping trip without good coffee and lunch, I've included a few local recommendations to help you make a whole day of it!

1. Riverwest Antique Mall | Madison, Indiana

I had a feeling Riverwest Antique Mall was going to be a good one from the moment we walked through the doors.

Within the first two minutes, I spotted a beautiful double-swan brass tray, and Katie found a gumball machine she'd been searching for.

I always say that if we find something we love within the first couple of minutes, it's going to be a good antique-shopping day. And Riverwest did not disappoint!

The booths were filled with beautiful vintage pieces, the prices were great, and we spent plenty of time wandering through all the treasures.

I left with the swan tray, a tiny Jadeite hen on nest, a leather strap with bells for my mom to hang on her door, and a few other finds. I'm pretty sure everyone in our group left with at least two or three things.

If you're planning an antique-shopping trip to southern Indiana, this one definitely deserves a spot on your list.

Make a Day of It: Start with breakfast and coffee at The Red Roaster, spend some time exploring Madison's beautiful historic downtown, and grab lunch at Mad Love Eat + Drink.

2. Cuckoo + Co. Antiques | Berne, Indiana

I've visited Cuckoo + Co. Antiques twice now, and both times we've had such a great experience.

This antique mall is beautifully curated, filled with vintage pieces, unique home décor, and the kinds of treasures that make you want to look through every single booth.

On our first visit, within minutes all three of us were carrying items around the store and making trips to the front counter to start our growing piles.

It was one of those magical antique-shopping days where every booth seemed to have something we wanted!

Addi found the canisters she'd been searching for at a price she was happy with, Katie found several brass pieces and a painting, and on a return visit, I finally found the amber fairy lamp and brass lion-head door knocker I'd been hunting for all year.

Some pieces are a little more expensive than what you'll find at other antique malls, but there are still plenty of reasonably priced treasures.

We always spend hours browsing and love every minute of it.

Make a Day of It: Grab breakfast and coffee at The Filling Station in Berne, then head to Decatur for lunch at Famous Monster Pizza. If you love classic horror movies and good pizza, this place is such a fun experience.

3. 820 Antiques | Elkhart, Indiana

820 Antiques is one of those antique malls that just checks all the right boxes for me.

It's big enough that you can happily wander for an hour or more without feeling completely overwhelmed, the prices are reasonable, and most importantly, the treasure hunting is GOOD.

We left carrying boxes full of finds, which is always a sign of a successful antique-shopping day.

Some of my favorite treasures from this visit included a brass wall sconce, a black hen on nest, a pink glass candy dish, and a vintage trophy that I planned to fix up for the winner of our bachelorette weekend photo challenge.

I love finding unusual pieces that I can actually use or give as gifts, and 820 Antiques had plenty of them.

If you're looking for a great antique mall in northern Indiana, I'd definitely recommend adding this one to your list.

Make a Day of It: Start with coffee at Steelyard Coffee Co., tucked inside the beautifully decorated Birds Gotta Fly Vintage, and grab lunch at Bird in the Hand. Their smashburger and garlic-herb fries were delicious!

4. The Country Shoppes of Grabill | Grabill, Indiana

We've visited The Country Shoppes of Grabill several times, and it's one of those antique malls where you really need to give yourself plenty of time.

This place is HUGE!

There are two levels with rooms branching off in every direction, and I'm honestly not sure we've ever made it into every space.

You might even want to bring a snack.

One thing that makes this antique mall especially memorable is the collection of taxidermy animals displayed throughout the building. You'll definitely spot a few things you weren't expecting!

There's also a popcorn shop inside that smells amazing, shopping baskets throughout the store for all the treasures you're going to find, and a restroom near the front desk.

All important details when you're settling in for a few hours of antique hunting!

We always have such a great time here, and everyone seems to leave with at least a treasure or two—or an entire box if it's a particularly good shopping day.

Make a Day of It: Start your morning at Common Grounds, a cozy coffee shop right next door, then walk over to The Country Shoppes. For lunch, head to Isabel's Tacos for delicious Mexican food.

5. Dutch Lady Antiques | Nappanee, Indiana

If you love beautifully curated vintage finds, Dutch Lady Antiques inside Coppes Commons in Nappanee is a dangerous place to shop—in the best way!

Coppes Commons is a wonderful destination on its own, with boutique shops, local food, a coffee shop, and a bakery all tucked inside a historic building.

But Dutch Lady Antiques is always one of my favorite stops.

The booths are filled with the kinds of vintage pieces I love, and somehow, every single time I visit, I leave carrying an entire box of treasures.

Usually, it's a few gold frames, brass figurines, a vintage perfume tray, or maybe an engraved recipe holder. You just never know what you'll find!

That's what keeps me coming back.

Before leaving Coppes Commons, take some time to explore the other shops, including the deli, bookstore, and bakery. And definitely grab a sweet treat or a bag of popcorn for later.

Make a Day of It: Enjoy breakfast and coffee inside Coppes Commons, spend the morning shopping, then head to Hunter's Hideaway for lunch.

Final Thoughts

One of my favorite things about antique shopping is that you never know what you're going to find.

Some days you walk through an entire antique mall and leave empty-handed. Other days, you find three things you've been searching for all year within the first hour.

That's what makes treasure hunting so much fun!

These five antique malls have become some of my favorites in Indiana because they offer a great mix of selection, reasonable prices, and unique vintage finds.

And the best part? Each one is close to local coffee shops, restaurants, and other small-town businesses, making it easy to turn a few hours of antique shopping into a memorable day trip.

So grab a friend, clear some room in your trunk, and pick an antique mall to explore.

You never know what treasures might be waiting for you!
